Simon Maxwell is Professor of Student Learning/Clinical Pharmacology and Director of Pharmacology & Therapeutics teaching at the University of Edinburgh, where he has been active in developing e-Learning strategies to support education in this area. His clinical responsibilities include supervision of acute medical admissions and the management of outpatients at increased cardiovascular risk. He is Chair of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) Prescribing Committee and was lead author of the core curriculum for CPT teaching in UK medical schools. He is Chair of the European Association of CPT (EACPT) Education Committee and Secretary of the International Union of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Education Section. He has recently been a member of the NICE drug appraisals committee, is currently a member of the Scottish Medicines Consortium, the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency’s (MHRA) Pharmacovigilance Expert Advisory Committee and is Medical Director of the Scottish Centre for Adverse Reactions to Drugs (CARDS). He was formerly Vice-President of the BPS and is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians in London and Edinburgh and of the Higher Education Academy. He is Clinical lead for the Prescribe project, a joint collaboration between the Department of Health, Medical Schools Council (MSC) and BPS to deliver a national eLearning solution to develop safe and effective prescribing amongst UK medical students. He is Medical Director of the Prescribing Skills Assessment, a joint initiative by the BPS and MSC to produce a national assessment of prescribing for all UK medical students. He is also part of an international group developing an electronic Summary of Product Characteristics (European Medicine’s Agency) and a UK group tasked to develop unified prescribing documentation (Academy of Medical Royal Colleges).

He is an eminent Faculty member at Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Abbassia, Cairo, Egypt. He has published numerous research papers and articles in reputed journals and presented his papers in various international conferences and seminars.   • Botanical investigation of medicinal plants.
  • Isolation and structural elucidation of new flavonoids, iridals, saponins, sesquiterpene and coumarin etc, from their natural sources (medicinal plants &marine organisms) by using sophisticated techniques.

Prof. Yahaya Hassan

Dr Yahaya Hassan is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice Department at Faculty of Pharmacy,Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. He also serve as a consultant for Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA) Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia and MQA panel member for Board of Pharmacy of Malaysia. He also serve as a committee member of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist development program for Pharmacy Division,Ministry of Health of Malaysia. Prof Yahaya obtained his B.Pharm from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Pharm.D. from University of Minnesota, USA. He has been lecturing at the faculty of Pharmacy for 33 years covering courses in clinical pharmacy, pharmacokinetics, advanced pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacy practice. He has successfully supervised over 30 research postgraduate students at the master’s and Ph.D levels, more than 200 master’s by coursework and published over 120 research papers in international journals and  regional and local journals.
His current research interest focus on clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacokinetic, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmaceutical outcome study.


Professor Dr. Jagdish N. Sharma

Dr. Jagdish N. Sharma is currently a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics of which he is the Founding Chairman, Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuwait University, Kuwait. He has also served as a Professor of Pharmacology at the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia, prior to joining Kuwait University in 1999. Prof. Sharma received his B.V.Sc. & A.H. (D.V.M.) in 1970 from Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur, India; his M.Sc. in Medical Pharmacology in 1973 from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India; and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in1976 from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. The Calamus International University, London, U. K., in 2011, awarded D.Sc. degree in Health Sciences to Professor Sharma in recognition of his outstanding highly accomplished professional achievements in research and academic contributions. In 1995, he was elected to an F.C.P. (Fellow) from the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, New York, USA and an F.I.Biol. (Fellow) in 1997 from the Royal Institute of Biology, London, UK. This is a highly prestigious award considered to be at the level of British DSc.

Prof. Sharma is an author of a book entitled “Topics in Mediators Pharmacology”, which has been published by the Nova Science Publishers Inc., N.Y., USA. Prof. Sharma is the Editor of a book Progress in Drug Research” series entitled “Recent Developments in the Regulation of Kinins” 2014 which is published by Springer Basel AG, Switzerland. He has been to numerous International conferences as invited speaker. Prof. Sharma has been holding several research grants for the support of his clinical and basic research activities and supervised PhD and MSc theses. He has been PhD external examiner and evaluator for promotions to the ranks of Associate Professor and Professor externally. In Malaysia, his research investigations were funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Malaysia. Currently his clinical priority research grant is funded by the Kuwait University research sector. He is the editorial board member of Pharmacy Times (USA) of Middle East from 2007 to date, Inflammopharmacology (UK) from 1997 to date, International Journal of Immunopathology and Pharmacology (Italy) from 2006 to date, European Journal of Inflammation (Italy) from 2006 to date, Archives of Medical Research (Mexico City) from 2006 to date, Clinical Medicine: Endocrinology and Diabetes (New Zealand) from 2008 to date, Clinical Medicine: Therapeutics (New Zealand) from 2009 to date, American Journal of Biomedical Sciences (USA) from 2009 to date and Journal of Pharmaceutical Technology and Drug Research (UK) from 2011 to date. He has 111 publications in reputed international biomedical journals, and 65 abstracts of national and international conferences. His work is supported by the Kuwait University Grant RP01/09.

Prof. Dr. Mirza R. Baig is currently working as a Head of Clinical Pharmacy department in Dubai Pharmacy College. He did his PhD in Clinical Pharmacy from University Science Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. He worked in Malaysia, India and have international teaching and research experience of about 16 years. He also worked as an Acting Dean in AIMST University, Malaysia. He published4 books related to Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Care. He published more than 40 Research papers and articles in International Journals. He is in the editorial board in various international journals, including reviewer for couple of Elsevier journals. He supervised numerous master and PhD students for their research projects. He also reviewed several Master and PhD thesis for Indian and foreign universities as an external examiner.  He received many awards in his career, few of it as an Outstanding scientist by a research foundation in India 2016,Best Quality Research in 2016 in DUPHAT Dubai, Best oral presentation in Dubai 2015 & 2014, Young scientist award in Malaysia in 2013, Best presentation award in IPC 2003, in India.

His area of research is Pharmacoepidemiology, Drug safety and efficacy, Drug Utilization Studies, Pharamcovigilance, and Public health.

Dr. Shamim Ahmad is Distinguished Professor  of Microbiology,Facilitator “NAAC” accreditation & “IQAC” and  Officer In-Charge at Microbiology Section ,Institute of Ophthalmology ,JN Medical College ,Faculty of Medicine , Aligarh Muslim University ,Aligarh ,India since January,10,1983 .He has recently been working as Superintendent of Examinations of the Faculty of Medicine, Officer In-Charge(Administration),Manager ,Blind School and many administrative as well as academic  positions at Aligarh Muslim University,Aligarh. Beside ,had also  served as Faculty on deputation for more than  5 years at Faculties of Medicine outside India at two Medical Colleges. After having awarded Ph.D. in 1982, he obtained his Post Doc. training in various Departments of Microbiology at  the Universities of  world repute in seven Universities of six countries for being recipient of  at least 6 International Fellowships including "DAAD(W.Germany),,"JSPS"(Japan)"ROYALSOC.London"(UK),"DAAD"(Germany),

"TUBA" (Turkey) and "SAIA"(Slovak Republic). Beside regular Undergraduate (MBBS) and Post Graduate (MS & DO, M.Sc.) teaching of the  Medical students  , he has been actively engaged in the teaching & practical Classes of some of the  Professional Courses (DOA) .Professor Ahmad's  research work mainly involved Multi resistant Eye Pathogens including Super Bugs MRSAs and their alternative treatment with newer antibacterial and innovative natural products especially the "Honey". He has published many papers , one book and three Book Chapters in International books and  Supervised /Co-supervised  of about 48 theses beside presenting many papers at National and International conferences having being visited about  30 countries for academic purpose. Currently, Prof. Ahmad is honored to be member in the Editorial team including Chief Editor of at least 67 International Journals of world repute.

Dr. SawsanAbuhamdah is a Jordanian registered Pharmacist, has completed her PhD from Durham University, UK and postdoctoral studies from Granada Medical School, Department of Pharmacology, Spain and has won postdoctoral Fulbright Research Award at the University of Toledo, Department of pharmacology and experimental therapeutics, Ohio, USA, 2014-2015.Promoted to associate professor in 2014 at the faculty of pharmacy, University of Jordan, and now acting as Deputy Dean, College of Pharmacy, Al Ain University of Science and technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr. Abuhamdah has published many original research articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in the preparation of many symposium abstracts. Dr. Abuhamdah is a member of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), British Neuroscience Association (BNA), Sigma Phi Sigma pharmaceutical Sciences Honor Society, University of Toledo, USA, Jordan Pharmaceutical Association and has been she has been serving as an editorial board member of reputable pharmaceutical journals.

Dr. Pongsak Rattanachaikunsopon is a Professor in the Department of Biological Science at University of Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Radiological Technology at Mahidol University, Thailand and a Master of Science in Anatomy at Mahidol University, Thailand. He earned Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania USA. He has been awarded with Professor Sood Saengvichain Award for Best Research and Presentation in 13th Annual Meeting of the Society of Anatomy of Thailand in 1990, Professor Dr. Tab Nilanidhi Foundation Award for the outstanding graduate student in Anatomy in 1991 and Best Government Officer, The Ministry of Education in 2014. He serves as an Editorial board member of more than 10 international Journals.

Prof. Dr. Pongsak Rattanachaikunsopon is interested fields of research are Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry. His present research focuses on searching for biological agents such as microorganisms and plants to use as alternatives to control animal and human diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria.

She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at KhonKaen University, Thailand and Master of Science in Microbiology at Mahidol University, Thailand. She received her Ph.D. in Biology at KhonKaen University, Thailand. She serves as an Editorial board member of more than 10 international Journals.

Dr. Parichat Phumkhachorn’s main research of interest is in the field of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Her present research focuses on finding bacteriophages for use as prophylactic and therapeutic agents against pathogenic bacteria causing animal and human diseases.

After graduation as a MBBS and practice surgery for 5 years in 1980s, Professor HQ Zhang pursued his Master of Surgery and PhD degrees from University of New South Wales, Australia, and has been working in School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University since 1999. His early research focuses on pain mechanisms, and in recent years on stem cell for neurodegenerative diseases and drug delivery for cancer treatment, leading to many publications.
