Dr. Je Kan Adler-Collins was born in the United Kingdom and entered the British Military at the age of 17 where he trained as a Registered Nurse in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Medically discharge in 1990 he developed an interest in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and how they could relate to nursing practice and education. He served on a Government Steering Group which started him on his life work of researching standards and teaching in Complementary Alternative Medicine and healing. His studies have taken to many different cultures and countries and in 1995 he became ordained as a Japanese Buddhist priest of Shingon Shu ( Koyasan) and brought his Buddhist research into his practice of a nurse in terminal care. He took his PGCE at Bath University College in 1997 and Masters in Education in 2000 at Bath University in Education with a focus of educational curriculum design and moved to Japan in 2000 where he build his own temple and healing centre in the mountains of Kyushu, South Japan. He worked with living action research approach to education and life enquires and completed his PhD at Bath (Education) university in 2007. Working as an associate professor of nursing at Fukuoka Prefectural University he introduced the first healing curriculum for Japanese nursing using safe touch, and body work. In 2007 he moved to the Associate professor position of a health promotion centre at Fukuoka Prefectural University, Japan with a focus on developing community training and course in health care and CAM resulting in opening the first end of life care centre ran by community therapists for their own community. His nursing CAM curriculum was approved for Master of Science award in 2008. He was appointed Director of Education for the Holistic Nursing Association in 2010. In August of 2010 formed a Non-Profit Organization, Integrative, Care, Education and Research Association with a focus on hospice and palliative care in the community. In 2015 he worked as senior consultant for the Ministry of Health in Oman, In 2017 He was appointed as Professor Of Global Health and Nursing at The University of Human Environments in Ehime Prefecture ,Japan. He travels the world lecturing on creating healing and therapeutic spaces both in the classroom and in nursing practices with a particular interest in energy healing research, curriculum development, e-learning, blended learning and MOOC design within China, Tibet, Indonesia and Thailand using living action research accounts of practice as evidence of learning. He is a master scuba diver , active environmentalist and organic farmer breeding ducks and growing rice . Researching hydroponics and companion growing.

Dr. Yu received his undergraduate education at the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and obtained his PhD degree in biochemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Before joining the Hong Kong Baptist University, Dr. Yu worked at the China Pharmaceutical University as a teaching assistant, an assistant professor and an associate professor; at the Nagasaki University, Japan, as a visiting scholar; at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a Croucher Foundation scholar and a postdoctoral research fellow; at the Xiamen University as a professor; and at the Macau University as an assistant professor. Dr. Yu is known for his research in herbal pharmacology, focusing on anticancer, anti-inflammatory and melanogenesis-regulating herbs, and in quality control of Chinese medicinal materials. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed research papers.
Dr. Yu once served as an associate editor for the LiShizhen Medicine and Materia MedicaResearch and now serves on editorial boards of LiShizhen Medicine and Materia Medica Research, Current Topics in Nutraceutical Research,Pharmaceutica Analytica Acta, World Journal of Translational Medicine. He is currently a technology advisory panel member of the Hong Kong Incu-Tech/Incu-Bio Technology Business Incubation Programme.

Dr. Tong-zheng Hong is the founder of As-You-Wish Healthcare Institute and Mercure Acupuncture Institute, Taiwan. He has been helping people stay healthy with TCM and acupuncture for over 15 years. His research interests include integration of TCM and acupuncture theories with conventional medicine diagnosis, discovering brand new extra points, and less needling for treatments. In addition to speeches on TCM and health to help communities understand how TCM and acupuncture can do for health issues at lower costs. He published a paper on Application of Four Gates to Treat Sub health and is working on a book Quotations of TCM Classics for Diagnosis and Treatment for TCM and acupuncture practitioners.
Prof Kensese S. Mossanda (Emeritus Professor – South Africa)
Prof Kensese S. Mossanda holds a degree in Pharmacy; 3 Master’s degrees in: Tropical Medicine & Biology, Clinical Biology and Food sciences and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Biochemistry & Toxicology) from the State University of Liege, Belgium. His previous appointments include: Postdoctoral Fellow in many Universities in Europe, USA, Asia and Africa; Professor, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, and Head of Clinical Biology Department at the University of Kinshasa, Congo. He has been awarded the Seoul National University (South Korea) prize for an outstanding lecture in 2003 as well as the “Dakota” award (Kyoto-Japan). During the last two decades, he has been awarded more than 30 scholarships, bursaries and fellowships to attend conferences, congresses and workshops.
